These theory and practical exam are for participants wanting to become PTIs in the following categories:
APK1: heavy (company) vehicles
APK2: light vehicles
APK3: agricultural vehicles

Here's an overview of the exam assignments & subjects you can expect per phase.
Phase 1
25 multiple choice questions about legal regulations and procedures for carrying out an inspection (APK1/2/3).
The following topics are included:
Vehicle acceptance
Processing inspection data
Filling in the inspection report
Determining approval period
Signing off
Processing inspection results
Participating in the random inspection
The appeals process
Laws & regulations surrounding the inspection
Phase 2
5 (APK3) or 6 case study/multiple choice questions (APK1/2)
It is about general vehicle technology in which a situation is outlined of a vehicle with a problem that you answer with your practical experience. Multiple answers may be correct.
Phase 3
6 (APK1/3) and 8 practical assignments (APK2) with between 6-8 sub questions each.

Steering (APK1/2/3)
The chassis (APK1/2/3)
Body (APK1/2/3)
Lighting (APK1/2/3)
Miscellaneous

When do you pass the exam?
To pass the PTI exams you must get at least the following scores:

Depending on the exam assignment, you may have to use certain test and measuring equipment. Below you will find the manuals that you can also use during the practical exam. So memorizing these manuals is not necessary, but it is useful to know how the equipment works. Saves you a lot of time.
